Nearly 3,000 Tamil protestors occupied streets around the Parliament in Westminster to demand an immediate ceasefire between the government and Tamil forces in Sri Lanka. The Westminster tube station was also closed as the protestors demonstrated without seeking permission of the police and local authorities. The demonstrations with placards and slogans continued late in the evening yesterday as families, including children, set up tents and refused to be moved.
