Painting, sculpture, photography - art is as much about the human form as it is about brushstrokes, shadows and light. It's a vulnerable, intimate dance between artist and muse, a sublime meeting of minds and bodies that transcends the boundaries of conventional interaction. It’s as raw and human as you can get. Features are stripped bare, and quite literally so. As an art model, I shed my clothes, and with it, every wall that society erects between individuals. The dynamic is potent, laden with an undercurrent of power exchange that is almost palpable. I am Greek, thirty, and non-binary. My nudity is my armor, and paradoxically, my surrender.
For years, I have been the object of interpretation, my body a canvas for artists to project their vision, their fantasies, their fears. I was often asked about the raw exposure I faced in the studio, and if it ever took a toll on me. It did, but not in the way many would think. This was the other side of the coin, where my power was taken without my consent–a theft rather than an exchange. But I tackled each battle in my stride, drawing strength from my essence - my nudity. More than ever, I feel a strong affinity with those ancient Greek sculptures, their nude forms resonating with timeless dynamism and power, their makers unafraid to depict the human body in all its glorious imperfections. And like them, I am unapologetic.
In my world, submission is not about losing control, but about finding a different kind of power - one that comes from trusting your body to another person's artistic gaze, knowing that your nudity, your vulnerability, will be captured and immortalized in a medium so intimate and beautiful.
